How to Download Instagram Reels
Instagram doesn't give you a built-in way to save someone else's Reel — there's no download button anywhere in the app. If you want to keep a copy of a public Reel, you need a separate tool that can pull the video file directly. Here's the fastest way to do it.
Step-by-step: saving a Reel
- Open the Reel you want to save and tap the paper-plane "Share" icon below it.
- Tap "Copy Link" — this puts the Reel's direct URL on your clipboard.
- Paste the link into the Instagram Reels Downloader.
- Tap Download. The tool resolves the original MP4 file, sound included, at the same resolution it was uploaded in.
- Save it to your device — no login, no watermark, no app to install.
Why not just screen record?
Screen recording works, but it re-encodes the video through your device's screen and microphone pipeline, so you lose quality and can pick up UI elements or notification pop-ups in the frame. Pulling the original file instead keeps the source resolution and audio track intact.
Does this work on iPhone and Android?
Yes — since it runs entirely in the browser, the same steps work on iPhone and Android, as well as desktop. There's nothing to install either way.
A note on copyright
Only download Reels you have the right to keep a copy of — your own content, or public content the creator has given you permission to reuse. See our Disclaimer & DMCA page for details.
